*** RIP Lavender Brown 08.02.2012 to 03.10.2023 ***
It is with a very large lump in my throat that I have to tell you that Lavender Brown passed peacefully away in her sleep last night. ![]()

She was one of six that I bought from a lady who said that if I didn’t have them they would go for slaughter, I didn’t need asking twice! ![]()

Back in the day when I used to breed sheep she had just one set of twins, Cedric Diggory and Severus Snape who are still with us and living a life of luxury with the boy sheep. ![]()

I think it’s safe to say that Lavender enjoyed life, nothing phased her nor was she the most active sheep you have ever seen but has always been up for a cuddle and a head scratch. ![]()

About 18 months ago now (it could be more) she went off her feet and so I brought her into our newly built infirmary. The fact that she could no longer walk seemed to bother her not one iota and she was happy for me to move her every day onto a fresh bit of ground and still managed to look alert and eat like a horse! ![]()

Indeed, it was Lavender (and her co-conspirator Luna) who persuaded me that what I am doing with the infirmary is absolutely the right thing. I know sheep can’t smile but I’m sure that Lavender did, whenever she heard me approaching her head would pop up and she would look around as if to say “what have you got for us today?” ![]()

She was a favourite of our Mandy too and it was Mandy who got to shear her two years in a row! Going to miss you like crazy LavLav but thanks for brightening my world for so long and for being such a special, smiley little girl, I hope we get to meet again. ![]()
